On the afternoon of April 27, 2019, a round-table conference, jointly organized by the Guangdong Intellectual Property Society, BCI & BIMC (, formerly known as BCI） and Fangda Partners was held at the World Café in Futian District, Shenzhen. At the conference, hundreds of legal personnel, lawyers, and intellectual property professionals freely shared their opinions on the theme of opportunities and risks facing the enterprises in the “Greater Bay Area” (Guangdong – Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area) in their overseas investment.
Li Zhuoying, president of BCI & BIMC's council, introduced the business development of BCI & BIMC in areas of law ascertainment, corporate compliance, cross-border dispute resolution and the like. Since its establishment, BCI & BIMC has continuously explored and innovated the forms for legal and cultural communications between legal professionals, and has established a bridge for conversations between legal professionals and enterprises on a regular basis. This World Café event is just a good example of BCI & BIMC's explorations in new models of legal communications based on its years of experience in organizing legal cultural activities, and this event has won great praises from the participants for providing such a platform.
What is World Café?
It is a brand-new discussion form which allows a group of legal professionals with diverse educational backgrounds and fields of expertise to gather together and express their opinions on hot topics in the realm of international commercial dispute resolution. This is a form that not only enables participants to think in new perspectives, but also helps them address problems in a novel way, which may eventually lead to consensus among them.
