From November 7 to November 12, 2019, the Hainan Province Leading Legal Professionals Candidates Training Program (Shenzhen), sponsored by Department of Justice of Hainan and organized by BCI & BIMC, was successfully held in Shenzhen.
While gradually moving from a free trade zone toward a free trade port, Hainan Province will become China’s most important open gate to the Pacific and Indian Ocean, and will become a more important part of “the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. The legal services industry of Hainan also faces greater opportunities and challenges. Therefore, cultivating a large group of prominent lawyers with high-level expertise for Hainan Province is significant for the construction of the foreign-related legal service system in Hainan. With the support of the Department of Justice of Hainan, Ms. Fan Rui, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Lawyers’ Work of Department of Justice of Hainan, led a team of nearly 50 legal professionals from Hainan to Shenzhen for a five-day training program on foreign-related legal affairs. BCI & BIMC took charge of the design of the training course, event planning, and conference organization, etc.
Ms. Fan Rui, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Lawyers’s Work of Department of Justice of Hainan, delivered an opening speech.
Ms. Ariel YE, BCI & BIMC’s Council Member, Senior Partner at King & Wood Mallesons, Member of the Court of Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Member of Advisory Committee of the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), was giving the first lecture of the training program.
Mr. Neville Cheng, Vice-chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong, is a practicing solicitor and a professional accountant. He was giving out lecture on investment and inheritance under Hong Kong’s legal system.
Mr. Andy See, senior consultant of BCI & BIMC, was giving lecture on corporate compliance.
Prof. Chen Jun, teacher of Party School Training Department of Longgang Shenzhen, lectured on the necessity of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Prof. Zhang Shudian, Associate Professor of Law of Shenzhen University, was giving the last lecture of the training program.
