From August 5 to 9, 2019, the 2019 Guangdong Province International Legal Professionals Training Program (Hong Kong), sponsored by Guangdong Lawyers Association, co-organized by BCI & BIMC (Formerly known as BCI) and Guangdong Lawyers Association Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and Foreign Affairs Committee, was successfully held in Hong Kong.
The program has invited Ms. Elaine Liu, a well-known barrister who currently practices in Sir Oswald Cheung's Chambers, Mr. Kanne Leung, partner at King & Wood Mallesons, Mr. Joe Liu, Deputy Secretary General of the HKIAC (Hong Kong International Arbitration Center), and Professor Xi Chao, Vice Chancellor's Outstanding Fellow of the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, to offer excellent lecture courses in legal affairs involving foreign elements based on their practical and research experience.
Aside from attending lecture courses, the program also organized visits to many legal institutions located in Hong Kong, such as the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the HKIAC, Des Voeux Chambers, Mayer Brown, Robertsons Solicitors.
When asked about the impressions about this training program at its conclusion, the participants happily described this program as "intensive yet very fulfilling" since both the courses study and the exchange opportunity with excellent lawyers from Guangdong and Hong Kong were quite "helpful" for them.
