On the afternoon of August 21, a lecture on "The Era of Foreign Investment Law—Legal Issues in Practice and Challenges" was held at People's Court of Nanshan District of Shenzhen. Ye Lin, professor and PhD supervisor of Renmin University of China (Beijing), was invited to present the in-depth explanation and analysis on the forthcoming Foreign Investment Law of China.
This event was co-sponsored by People's Court of Nanshan District of Shenzhen, BCI & BIMC, Shenzhen Law Society, and co-organized by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Legal Training Exchange Center with the participation of more than 150 participants from courts, enterprises and law firms.
Zeng Qiuhong, BIC & BIMC's council member, then hosted the dialogue session where guests joined the discussion with Prof. Ye Lin by sharing their views on some hot issues that may arise after the entry into force of the Foreign Investment Law of China, including problems under the "dual-track" legal system and the determination of legal relationships in round-tripping investments. Guests joining the dialogue session were Zhu Ping, vice president of Foreign-related Commercial Adjudication Tribunal at the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court's, Jia Hongwei, executive director of the Guangdong Bar Association and senior partner and director of Shenzhen Branch of Long'an Law Firm, and Andy See, senior consultant of BCI & BIMC and former managing director of APAC Geographic Legal Services and Managing Director of Greater China Law Department of Accenture.
